Just another day; another crisis.
So I’ve been reading that there are organizations collecting donations for Haiti; I’m not going to mention any names, you can do a search and find plenty of information if that’s how you choose to spend your money. I’m all for helping my neighbor but incase anyone has forgotten; our country is in crisis. I’m sure we all personally know of family members, friends and neighbors who have lost their jobs, can’t find a job, and etc.
The Governor of my state just announce another $40Million in budget cuts; the educational system with be taking a big hit with this latest round of cuts. If we really want to make a difference, let’s keep our dollars in our own economy. Go to the store, spend $10 on school supplies and donate them to your closest elementary school.
Let’s take care of our own people before we try to save the world.

Declutter your cookbooks!…Do it now!
I’m going to make it through my To-Do list today! I’m decluttering my cookbooks. Yes, you can have too many cookbooks. It’s time to get rid of the ones you don’t use and organize all of the recipes you get from the internet into a 3-ring binder. Toss the ones you tried and don’t like. This may seem like a no-brainer but people tend to keep alot of crap! Toss it!
Recycle those old cookbooks. Open an account at amazon.com to sell them. People love cookbooks! It’s super simple and you will be giving your old recipes a new lease on life and add some ka-ching to your pocket!
If you don’t have the time or ambition to sell your tasty treasures, donate them to a local not-for-profit thrift store and take a tax deduction. See www.irs.gov for guidelines.
Happy Tossing!
Jules
I am not being paid by Amazon or the IRS for mentioning their websites.

Hello world!
Well, here’s my first blog post. I’m new to the world of blogging. I think a lot of people have a fear of blogging….what if no one likes me? what if no one reads it? what if I get terrible comments? what if I don’t know what to write about. Well, I decided to just jump right in! I figure you’ll either like it or you won’t and that’s ok. I’ll be discussing a wide range of topics but the one I’m so passionate about is Consumer Awareness. I’ve learned many things over the last 20+ years in accounting, finance and marketing. Things the average consumer probably doesn’t know, didn’t think of, wasn’t warned about, etc. My writing style is exactly like my thinking style. I’m not a professional writer and I won’t pretend to be. I’m just me, plain and simple. No bells and whistles. What you see, is what you get.
So here we go!
Have a superb day!
Jules
